2003 Honda EP3: JDM or BUST |

|
The last car we featured was a total track beast with looks only a mother could love, and in spite of our love for track cars, we do still appreciate a car that looks good because we all know it's hard to show up on a first date with a lady and ask her to strap herself into a 5 point racing harness. We're not so much into tuned cars that have parts with no real functionality. So, here's Cristian's 2006 Honda Civic EP3. It has style, grace and most importantly has no parts that are disfunctional.
We sat down with Cristian and here's what he had to say:
How did you first get interested in modifying cars & tuning and at what age?
I first got into modifying cars about 2.5 years ago through my twin brother. He was in the process of building a 99 Civic SI (Em1) and his style and love for Hondas really inspired me to get into them. My parents bought me my first car right before I graduated high school. It was a 2003 BMW 325i. I hated it, totally wasn't me. I ended up having them sell that car and I purchased the ep3 completely on my own.
What drew you into tuning?
What drew me into tuning was the fact that everyone has their own unique style of tuning and putting together a car. I look at it as a form of art. I myself am an artist; I'm a graphic designer for a full media advertising agency, and building cars to me is an art. Going to a car show is a lot like going to an art show, but unlike a traditional art or music... you actually get the chance to speak to the artists.
What do you like most about the car you have now?
I really like how reliable the ep3 is and how practical it is. It has so much room for such a small looking car it blows my mind. The ep3 is my daily driver, so I am very happy that I can do a lot with it. I also like the fact that its a pretty rare car (for the most part) within the tuning community. I go to meets sometimes and I'll be either the only ep3 or one of about two or three. I'm a huge fan of rare things.
Have you had your car dyno'd? If so, what were the results?
Have no have my car dyno'd yet... but I plan on putting a JRSC inside of her very soon and it will be seeing a dyno before the year is out for sure.
What was your most memorable experience in the car?
I would have to say that my most memorable experience is hands down Import Alliance 2009. I debuted my current look for the first time there and it just got an amazing response. I ended up taking home first place in best stance and fitment and I also got to hang out with and meet a ton of amazing people that weekend. I will never forget it.
Do you race the car at the track? If so, what's your experience...how many years...etc.?
I have no tracked my car before. I'm currently not building it as a track car, more so a show car.. but it's possible for things to change in the near future. I've considered it highly. Espically after getting to ride in a few of my friends' cars around the track this summer at Import Alliance.
