If you have ever visited Monterrey, Mexico, you'd know that it's a landscape set by curvacious mountains and beautiful aqua skys.  It's a place you'd never forget.  Anthony Freedman has gone to work on creating a car that is as beautiful as Monterrey's aqua skys and a look that's definately unforgettable.

Some would say, "come on, it's smurf blue, not Monterrey blue."  I'd have to agree, but in this case comparing this 370Z to a smurf would not do it justice.  From the moment that we saw this 370Z, we knew we had found a winner.

Anthony has kept his car super clean, yet quite the eye catcher.  He started with some of the common upgrades under the engine bay that now make the car fun to drive, yet what leads to an addiction we all know too well.

Monterrey Blue 370Z exterior

The exterior of this car is where attention to detail has achieved this 370Z's success.  The carbon fiber accents to the front bumper and rear bumper along with the JDM taillights and MR Works Modded Headlights have turned this 370Z into a real head turner.

How did you originally get into cars?
I honestly didn’t start to get into the modification and upgrading of cars until just this past year. My Monterey Blue 370 is actually my second 370. I originally owned a Chicane Yellow 370 but it met an untimely death in an early morning accident. 3 weeks and 318 miles were all I managed to put on that car. I didn’t have enough time to enjoy the 370 so I told myself I was going to purchase another one.

One month later I purchased my Monterey Blue 370. It was then that I started to search forums and boards and learn about upgrading the 370. Before long I was investing in everything from a new exhaust to new rims & tires to as small as LED lighting for the interior.

One year later, I regret nothing and am so glad I started modifying and upgrading my 370Z. If I had to do it all over again, I would in a heartbeat. I love seeing people comment on my car and come up to me and ask questions. Hopefully it leads to another 370 owner!

What attracted you to the 370Z?

Last year in February I started looking for a new car to replace my 2004 Hyundai Tiburon. The Nissan GT-R originally caught my eye but once I did some research and saw the price for the GT-R I almost gave up and figured I’d stick with the Tiburon for a few more years. However, my aunt showed me the Nissan 370Z and being the GT-R’s “little brother” I was hooked.

What are your plans for this car in the future?
My future plans include getting local and hopefully national sponsorship for my car. A supercharger or perhaps going from N.A. to F.I. with a turbo kit is something I would love to aspire towards. A body kit isn’t ruled out, either. Interior modifications include going from the current stock stereo/navigation system and installing an upgraded version of both. Also replacing the stock seats with racing seats isn’t out the picture, too.

What other shows will you be at?
I have currently attended several local Northern Virginia & Maryland events (D&V Auto Body Meet, College Park Tuning Meet, & AAM Competition Open House). My next scheduled shows will be Z Dayz in Deal’s Gap, NC (20 to 23 May) and then OC Car & Truck Show 2010 – East Coast Nationals (5 June). And as the summer progresses I will be attending as many east coast events as possible.
