“A Picture Tells a Thousand Horsepower”
No truer words may have ever been spoken. What you’re looking at is the new Venom GT from supertuner John Hennessey. Many of you probably know Hennessy from their Dodge Viper Supercharger Kits or maybe their Twin Turbo Ford GT40. But Hennessey has taken their expertise to a whole new level with the Venom GT.
Starting life as a Lotus Exige; Hennessey has lengthened the body, dropped the weight and thrown in a 6.2L LS9 from the Corvette ZR1. Yeah. Crazy. As it sits, the car tips the scales at a mere 2400lbs and produces 725HP. For those truly insane, 1000HP and 1200HP twin turbo variants of the LS9 will also be available.
In addition to the power, 6Piston front and 4Piston rear calipers have been fitted to 15in carbon ceramic rotors and wheel spin is managed by a programmable traction control system. To keep this from literally ‘taking off’ an active aero system has also been employed to adjust the rear wing depending on the speed and driving conditions.
Only 10 are slated to be produced each year and although no price nor performance figures other then those listed have been disclosed, already 4 are sold.
